Do I need any special equipment?
Not really, but a mic with a mute button is very nice to have. This is because voice detection / sound detection will interrupt the bots when they are speaking.
What is the Mute button on the Mixer for?
The mixer mute turns off the interruption feature, so you can speak over the bots and have your voice captured. This is good when using external recording.
Why would I want to turn off transcription?
The bots 'listen' through transcription — so if you don't want the co-hosts to respond to what you are saying, turn off the MIC (Mute) and turn off Transcription.
Why do I need my own API Key?
Subscriptions do not include LLM costs, so you need an OpenAI API key or LemonFox API key (for the different voices that the co-hosts use) and you will also need an OpenRouter API key (for the LLMs that are used by the co-hosts). These are easy to get at openrouter.com and platform.openai.com.
I don't hear the co-hosts speaking, but I can see their messages in the queue analyzer. What do I do?
Try logging out and refreshing the page or use an incognito window. This usually resolves browser caching issues with audio playback.
How much does it cost to get an API key from the providers?
There is no cost for the key itself, but there are charges for the providers' services. We are not affiliated with these providers, so please check their pages for pricing details.
What browsers are supported?
PodNami works best in modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Mobile devices are not currently supported — you'll need a desktop or laptop computer.
Can I use PodNami without an API key?
The Free plan includes limited access with system-provided models, but for the full experience with custom personalities, premium voices, and advanced features, you'll need to add your own API keys. Pro and Studio plans require API keys for most features.
How do I set spending limits on my API keys?
You can set spending limits directly in your API provider accounts (OpenAI, OpenRouter, etc.). PodNami doesn't control these limits — you manage them through each provider's dashboard. This gives you complete control over your costs.
Can I record my conversations?
Yes! PodNami allows you to record and download your sessions. You can then edit them offline for content creation. Recording is available on all plans, with unlimited recording time on Pro and Studio plans.
How do I customize my AI co-hosts?
You can customize co-hosts by choosing their names, voices, personalities, and LLM models. On Pro and Studio plans, you can create custom personalities with just a few words describing the character you want.
What's the difference between Free, Pro, and Studio plans?
Free: Basic features with limited recording time and conversation turns. Pro: Unlimited recording, all voices, premium LLM models, and 1 custom personality. Studio: Everything in Pro plus unlimited custom personalities and custom agent names. See our pricing page for full details.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes! There are no contracts or lock-in periods. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
How do the co-hosts interact with each other?
Your two AI co-hosts can debate, discuss, and interact with each other independently. This creates natural, dynamic conversations where you can listen, participate, or guide the discussion as needed.
